From January 3 to February 26, 2026, Dr. Andrés Ignacio Arriagada Romero from Federico Santa María Technical University in Chile visited the research group led by Professor Dmitry Pashchenko at the Applied Thermal Energy laboratory at Department of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics at GTIIT. His visit was supported by the China Exchange Program for Young International (CEP) of the China International Talent Exchange Foundation (CITEF). Academic Collaboration & Research: Dr. Andrés worked closely with the GTIIT research team on cutting-edge topics in energy systems and combustion science. His focus was on advanced porous structures in energy conversion systems, particularly the application performance of Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS) structures under high-temperature reaction environments. Academic Exchange: He actively engaged with scholars through conferences, seminars, and discussions, sharing his research findings on modeling methods, experimental approaches, hybrid filtration combustion, and solar-driven gasification. Cultural Experience: Beyond academics, Dr. Andrés explored the city of Shantou - visiting temples, strolling its streets, and interacting with local residents to gain a deeper appreciation for Chinese culture. Reflecting on his stay, Dr. Andrés commended the focus and academic dedication of the researchers at GTIIT and strongly recommended that young scholars participate in similar exchange programs to broaden their technical and cultural horizons. The CEP, funded by CITEF, aims to build an international platform for young talents to enhance understanding, foster friendship, and grow together through exchange.
